I’m pretty sure that I’ve read about this before, probably here, but now I can’t find it. I’ve got a reproduction or modern era 2046W shell only. Maybe painted black, but no sign of any side lettering. On the rear only are the numbers 1993. Molded in the plastic is 2671W-6. I feel like there’s a story behind this. Made for TCA, LCCA, something?

That shell came off a separate sale undecorated railsounds tender so you could run your postwar 2037 or any postwar steam and have railsounds. Decorate as you like.

@PaperTRW has it correct. It's the 6-16655 and it is undecorated. I have one and love it.
However, is your tender's shell die cast? My 6-16655, and as far as I know all others, came from the factory with a die cast shell.

The 6-16655 has a plastic shell.
If you have one that's die-cast, then the number is 6-19820.

It might very well be. The box is packed away so I can't immediately check it. Same look however, except for the "1993".
