That was great. Now after all that work. Other than the tree are you going to take it down?

Yep, the whole thing will come down after the New Year!  Next year's set-up will be different from this years which can be a nice thing about non-permanent layout.  Ken

Doug

I did post a thread about candy bars mysteriously jumping out of PARKED gons!

Candy bars ok, it had been awhile. You don't think the forces of unknown are planning on  messing with your Christmas display?

I didn't have any candy jumping out of gondolas, however at Halloween every time I happened to check, my gondolas were mysteriously less full............. I think something in the tunnel must have been getting the candy corn..............

got the tree up last night. Laid out some ceramic houses, and got started with some Prewar. I call this my "Treasure box train"The Gunmetal 225E started out as a lot off of e bay as a bare shell. My home made Vandy tender, just need to get around to getting the gunmetal paint and get it decaled, all from junk parts and e bay trucks. The 1630s were a score at a train show for a dollar each, missing the roofs, which Jeff Kane supplied Madison replacement. Had to repaint the windows, but the green is original paint.

You know Mark, we could pull this off. Alan must know a local minister.

Yes Brian, Alan only lives 886 miles from me, a hop, skip, and a jump for me to attend!

Over the river and through the woods to Alan's house we go,

The iron horse knows the way to carry Pullman through the white and drifted snow!

Where did you get that tunnel portal?

The tunnel portals are carved out of Owens Corning Foam board; unpainted except for the mortar lines. Standard gauge drum heads from Dan's Drum Heads are embedded into the keystones.

Alan - I have been practicing being an usher in church so if you ever need one at your place, let me know.

Beautiful home, Christmas tree, and setting.

Hello everyone!

This is my first posting.  I am new to model trains, never owning one as a kid.  My 4 year old son loves trains.  I bought him a Lionel Lionchief Polar Express 10th Anniversary set last week.  I put together a table and started going crazy with buying up Lemax buildings and accessories to make a winter display.  Here are some pictures of how it looks so far.  My wife has accused me of buying the train set for myself.  While that was not true at first, it has quickly become an obsession!  I bet I am not alone here --- judging by the awesome displays I have seen just on this thread.
