Great layouts all.

All these years that we have been doing the halloween layouts in the garage this was the first year that we heard the question "Do you do this for Christmas as well ?". Needless to say it got the wheels turning, so this is what we did.

From Halloweentown:

To Bedford Falls :
Visitors were a little thin so if we do this again next year we will definitely provide some advertising to all the halloween visitors. It was still a lot of fun !

Here's a Christmas car I picked up at the Greenberg Show in Richmond a few weeks ago....kit bashed and repainted.....the basic car is a Lionel General mail/baggage car.

Here's the final Christmas video.....before I packed all the Christmas cars up for next year....

Brian.....this has been a fabulous thread!

Dave, those are mainly 060 curves.  There may be a few 072s thrown in there as well.

I've found that with carpet layouts, the track must yield when working around heavy furniture.

The bus is under the house and the feeders are dropped through the carpet and sub floor to it.

Jen wants to add a ceiling layout as well.  (I LOVE that woman!)

Yes Volphin, that is a very well done video.  The opening with the PE slowly starting really grabs you.  Then it is moving faster and faster on the way to the Pole.  The PM freight is a great addition as well.  Thank you so much for taking the time to post.

My wife too suggested a ceiling level railroad.  I have shelves up on 3 of 4 walls, but will have to wait until next winter to finish because of upcoming surgery on my left hand.  30 years of my trains; yes I love my wife too!!

Thank you Mark!  My favorite part is the opening scene showing a conductor presenting a child with a toy train.  Best $2 I ever spent!

Maybe we should collaborate on each other's new ceiling layout...

Collaboration is great idea.  Can we pull it off being 525 miles apart?  :-)

I agree it has been one of the best threads in my time here!  Great idea, Brian!  Yes, I have been thinking Bedford Falls all this month on this thread!

I don't see why not, I do it with my clients every day.

Good point.  As a telecommunications engineer, my office is in Western Pennsylvania, my manager is in Duluth, Minnesota and we have colleagues in Illinois, Texas, Kansas, California, and Hong Kong.  I will dig up my photos and send them for you to see what I have done soon.

Seems like the only thing I can keep working this Christmas is the Building Accessories.  The Candy Cane dump car wouldn't work, found a broken wire underneath.  Been packed away for almost a year & wire is broke.  Resoldered - car won't dump on Fastrak - but will dump while on Tube Track - weird.

Santa Caboose - Red Lantern went out after a few days - not going to open that thing up to figure it out yet.

Thanks, and I see you will have a good 2015 start, because you get your ToT Monday.  Lucky you.  But, given your forum name, I'd ship yours out first, too!

Thanks Lee. Looked at the UPS Tracking info today and the set arrived in Maine at 1:11 AM this morning. Looks good for Monday. You will love yours when it arrives. I was fortunate to see one at the York Meet.

Can't wait for your review and video.

This is my first attempt at posting a video. My camera resolution is not very good but here it is.

thanks to you and all the others for the kind words. i have shot a couple more videos, trying to get something that suits me, and have even took a stab at adding an audio track. I re arranged the parade for better shots of that and i will take one more stab a good video. i think i will try it from a tripod. i wish as many people had seen this in person as here, but mostly i did it for me. if others enjoy it so much the better.

and to all the others that posted pics and video, they are all great. you can't go wrong with christmas and trains. and i see where some are already planning additions for next year. hope i will be here to see those too.

so to all keep up the great work. all wonderful, trains and trees. many trains and happy christmas to all, and more for the new year........................

How are these photos posted Doug? I cant open them further to look close, Not without downloading, and saving the page, scanning, reopening, etc. or changing the browser scaleing.

Edit: After back tracking into this thread Im finding many photos I cant open in a new window. I have never run across it before, not that I remember anyhow. Any answers? Zooming does not keep photos clear enough to view them. I don't have time or room to download, scan, and erase every photo
