This display started life as a place for my wife to put her ceramic buildings.  She has so many we can't put them all out at once.  This led to a seasonal display which includes 3 loops of trains.  There are just 4 flat 3 X 7 foot tables arranged in a circle on the bottom with another 4 X 8 foot table stacked on top wedding cake fashion.  The lowest level is 40 inches above the floor.

I use seasonal themed plastic table cloths to cover the table and then put down the track and the buildings.  I use Flyer rubber roadbed under the Flyer track to improve performance and new (Menards) tubular track for the O gage loops.  Some years at Christmas I substitute in Standard Gage and G Gage for the O Gage loops.   I have equipment to run conventional, TMCC and DCS trains on any of the 3 loops.

Under the display is a play space for my grand kids with rubber mats for flooring.  They call it the "underground city" and love playing there.  It has been in place for about 6 years and changes with the seasons.  Everything is temporary on the display and it takes about 3 days to tear down and set up the new display.  The tables stay in place during this process.

2020. Year 11 for this layout. How could I ever have known that this would be the difference between passing out Halloween candy, and just turning off the lights and turning the children away?

This will be setup at the foot of the stairs to our front porch under a 10'x10' pop-up canopy. We will load candy into hopper cars, and deliver it to the children on the other side of the layout. Children deserve a return to normalcy.

Here is my entry for this year.  It is small (60x72) on two folding tables, but I don't have enough Halloween materials to fill out the space like I do my Christmas.  Need to get more stuff, especially ones that are illuminated

Tunnel was carved out of a plastic pumpkin that I purchased at Michael's.  Used a sharpie to decorate the outsides

The wife and I were watching Metallica and the San Francisco Symphony on PBS (TV in the background) while I was doing the photo shoot.  It's Halloween... Sleep with one eye open!

Thanks Joe.  I may have to get me one.  A few years back I had replaced my first Halloween loco with the Peanuts one that I have now. I've been considering replacing it with one of the modern diesel Halloween sets I've seen.  I like the retro look of the Crusader though.  Very ominous looking.  Can't believe I never saw it before.

Here is my 2020 "Petite" Std. Gauge & O Gauge Halloween Layout. My first Halloween Layout offering ever. Its 4ft x 6ft. Set up on two 3ft square card tables, in our Foyer. The birch plywood layout table is covered with two layers of inexpensive orange sparkle fabric, bought at Walmart.

Many dollar store items, a couple of things from Walgreens several Dept 56 Halloween items including the Rickety Railroad Station and the Halloween wooden triptych backdrop, 2 Lemax buildings; my wood worker and builder Hubby Tom chose the Dead Construction Zone, I- a jazz singer chose the Zombie Jazz Club. I created the ala' 1933 art deco "Park-In" Theater, using my large iPad as the movie screen. The cars there for the night's movie are all 1:24 1930s era diecast. The peeps in the convertible are #1 Gauge Aristo-Craft. The Halloween children peeps at the Pumpkin Patch are Dept 56 Seasons Bay.

The trains for Std. Gauge are; MTH Ives 1134 Circus set loco and tender, original 1930s repainted purple & black with gold 35 Pullman, repro orange & blue Lionel 309 Pullman, and repro Lionel Stephen Girard Observation. The O gauge trains are; older MTH AT&SF loco with matching 605 tender, older Lionel Zombie Containment (aquarium) car, older Lionel gondola jack-o-lantern car. Two green 600 series prewar tinplate Lionel freight cars are filled with candy; a tipple car and a hopper. The eerie special effects of smoke hovering, that drifted completely on its own towards the Foyer windows was courtesy MTH Proto-Smoke smoke pouring forth and filling the room from the O engine!
