Does anyone know any dates for when the N&W #611 is scheduled to return to Spencer N.C. I was told Saturday that it is supposed to return to the N.C. Transportation Museum in January for maintenance.

I think that I heard that it would return on Jan. 9th. But, don't hold me to that.
The rumor mill on Facebook was going full speed when fireup611.org took their event page down that had 611 traveling to Spencer in early January. Not sure if or when she will leave Roanoke, but I would look to the fireup611 website for official announcements if one will be made regarding this ferry move.
Coincidentally the 2017 excursion schedule was just posted on fireup611.org
