Jay, Does IRM or whoever owns the ITC 988 ever plan on repainting and or running this caboose again? I remember seeing it at IRM years ago, it looked very nice as I recall. Anytime I ever see it in photos anymore it's just parked there with the A/C unit in it's bay window. One of the few IT bay windows left and it just sits there like the one at the NKP and Mad River in Ohio. I remember seeing this caboose on the rear of trains running by my house as a kid.
Rusty
Rusty, I don't know. Everything depends upon $$$$$, of course. I'll see if I can find out more.

Rusty, I was out at IRM on Sunday and spoke to a young volunteer who was going into this caboose. He said it hasn't been moved in years, as it has been used as an office/storage car, which is parked on a stub track behind one of the barns. He doesn't expect it to moved again. Any way, here's a couple pictures for you.....the air conditioners are not original to the caboose, I'm sure.
