On my layout there will be a local short line railroad with the name Black Creek, Richwood and Weston RR. It's one of those kinda run down backwoods railroads just getting by. Set during the early WWII era I wanted a passenger car for the line. I settled on the MTH 64' wood passenger cars. But these are a bit costly for a single car that I'd take apart and rework into a run down 'end of the line' car. But I found a set of three MTH bodies on ebay. The three were $15 but included ONLY upper body/roof. No end walls, chassis, trucks.....nothing. But at that price it was worth a try. So here is the start of the project. I know the trucks are not 100% correct for this car....but they too were cheap and I will modify them to be a little more correct and give a good backwoods engineering look!!
I picked the combine so I could build a mixed train type car. I see this in a train with a box car or two and a caboose running between Black Creek and Richwood. First step will be a floor/frame and car ends. Thanks!!
