Thanks it was my wife’s idea and she pick a new tree out this year and she wanted to put it up with a train under it so we got kinda early start. She loves Christmas and always gets excited at Christmas time I don’t know how she does it we both lost our Fathers at Christmas. Mine passed away on Dec. 28 2003 Her dad passed away Dec.22 2009 but this year it seems different I’m actually enjoying it this year. I’ll post more pics as we go.

The Crosshead Feedwater Pump:

A piece of apparatus you don't see too often these days what with the invention of the Injector.

When this was the only way to pump water into the boiler, the boiler was running low on water and the train was standing still the Tallowpot (fireman) would grease the rails (with tallow) under the driving wheels and with the train brakes set the Hogger would open the throttle and spin the wheels to operate the feed water pump.

Lew, great information on the feed water pump'... Best RR forum for learning about prototypes.  And for receiving acknowledgement of posts. Makes it all worth while'........

One of my favorite things to do in the summer months is to visit the farmers market in historic Perrysburg Ohio.  Later in the evening they will have a local band play in the gazebo.  The train tracks in Perrysburg run thru the farmers market area.  I built this gazebo with doll house parts.
