Yesterday's switching work left this freight consist waiting to make the run to Interchange:
This AM, the crew parked the Dinner Train for the day. Then they delivered the outgoing train to interchange. The Plywood Empire Route follows the old ICC rule that there cannot be a tank car as either the first car or the last car so before leaving town the crew drilled until the gray covered hopper (in foreground) was between the last [tank] car and the Crummy. Then they whistled off out of town.

BAR GP7 #63, Jaw-dropping realistic modeling, there, that whole tankcar vignette. My mouth literally dropped open a bit when I first saw that scene this morning.

Yup, Kenworth conventional front fenders looked a lot like an A-car. Nice model.
Old and older:
Penn Central #9502, now POHC #1545 was built in Feb 1971. That PRR signal bridge at Bennington Curve was probably built in the 1930s. Does anyone here know when the Pennsy was signaled?

For today: " Friendly rivals pose for a photo on the platform before boarding the Pennsylvania special Army Navy Game train." Soon they will board, and GG1 4876 will wisk the train forward to Philadelphia..... a few minutes after departure a sailor enjoys the view from the back deck of observation car 120."

Very nice photo Brian! My eye wants me to believe it's a well done painting of a passenger train's nocturnal passing through rural lands. Well done!!
