Pat, what happened to the finish on the cabin car?

Ron

Ron - bought the cabin car used at York for $10.00 with that blem in the finish.... thinking this car would be a great weathering project.    I later ( after this photo ) weathered the entire car.   I think this photo gives the car an already believable " weathered" sort of look.

Well the "roach coach" has arrived at General Storm and Dash at lunchtime.  The driver obviously is not too good a reading signs and has missed the big "Danger" sign and is still on the tracks...lets hope he has his scanner tuned to the RR frequency and gets a good warning about on coming trains.

Have a good week everyone

Don

Lew, those look like very active tracks, the rails are almost polished.  I was taught by the real train people I know never to walk the tracks between the rails and at least 5-foot on the outside of them.

Ya, those shots were all carefully staged with due awareness and close familiarity with the particular sections of the particular railroads. I and mine are anything but foamers.

But, yet, you are still trespassing on railroad property.

Yes, but so what? Really. People "trespass" all the time. People "trespass" on our 30 acres all the time. So what? What matters is whether damage was done by the trespass. People ride those infernal "quads" across our land and make ruts but we accept this minor damage because tempest in a teapot. Similarly with Dad&I "trespassing" on various&sundries railroad properties down through the years. Tempest in a teapot.

I guarantee that no Dads, Granddaughters or even cats were injured in the taking of those pics. You don't know me and you assuredly did NOT know my Dad and therefore you know zero wrt our studied situational awareness at the time I took those photos.

OK, I see where this is going. Another pointless argument that will result in another great thread getting closed for getting "off topic." Can we all calm down please?

Anyway, here's a shot I took last month of the H10 in front of some rock walls I had just wrapped up. I'm working on another section of rock wall that's about 2 times the length of this one, and it will make up the rugged backbone of what will eventually become Horseshoe Curve.

Lee, I always find it fitting seeing K-Line containers near the railroad!  Brady's Hobby Shop in Greensburg, Pennsylvania even has one in their parking lot for extra storage.

I need some more refurbishing on my postwar body to be able to run like the F3!

I’ve hauled many K Line Containers and pulled there chassis’s. They were merged in with a NYK and MOL to create the company ONE network you know those pretty pink boxes with the big white word ONE on the side very sad I’ll miss the MOL Gator packing the container on the shoulder

You are teaching that little child to not respect railroad tracks.  someday she might wander away from you to play on those nice shiny railroad tracks never understanding how big and fast a train is and how tiny and hard to see she is.  Oh well it's none of my business...….ODD-D

You cannot possibly have any idea what we were or were not teaching my Granddaughter that day because you don't know me, you assuredly didn't know my Dad and you have no idea what the circumstances were when I took that pic.

I assure you that no toddler morals were [too terribly] corrupted that day  but if you are troubled by my pics you can always just scroll on by.

Also too, I put myself and my Family out there when I post these pics and if they are disrespected I will pull it all and keep my pics and memories to myself.
