I just came across this interesting brief article on a special car used by Chicago's Shedd Aquarium to transport collections, and thought you might be interested - there's certainly a prototype for everything!

Similar to those railroads that has cars for transporting fine horses, like PRR, etc..

John G. Shedd's grandson, John Shedd Reed, was President of Santa Fe Railway from 1967-1986.

I watched a restoration show recently on Amazon I believe in which they restored one of these. It was used by a game and wildlife group to transport hatch-lings from what I recall. If I can find it I will post a link.
Edit: It is the badger from David's post above. The show is called Ultimate Restorations and it was episode 2 of the first season.
In my area, Ultimate Restorations airs on PBS on Saturdays, about 1P I think. They have a rotation of about 6 shows that they repeat. This last weekend was the Sierra #3.
