Cute story, but the subway is an inherently dangerous place and everyone should

use caution in potentially perilous situations.

 

I've ridden the subway all hours day and night, from the early 70's

and only having normal cautiousness (and a little luck) kept me

safe with only minor tales to tell.

 

Of course, that's no excuse to live in fear or trepidation of your

neighbors, but stories like this one could have easily had a

different outcome.

I love that.  Things aren't always what they seem, are they?  It brought to mind a time that I hesitated walking across a footbridge because of the looks of a man at the other end:  Camo outfit, big boots, full beard, etc.  The hackles weren't really up, however, so arriving at his end, I saw that he was watching a duck with her ducklings.  He said, "Ah just love these baby duckies!"
