Mr. Slie and I took a trip to Mercer Junction to visit Dave and had a great time browsing the store and picking up some scenery items.  While we were there a motorcycle event was being held outside.  Quite a nice collection of motorcycles to say the least.  Dave's was parked outside his store.  Wish I would have taken a picture.  We met a few friends we haven't seen in a while there too.

Since we were up that far north and after Mark Boyce posted about Corner Field, we had to take the trip.  One word describes the layout behind the curtain...WOW!  Of course you have to browse the store.  Since we first stopped at Mercer we were shopped out but definitely looked around and saw some hard to find items for those looking for something it would be worth a call.

So onto the layout...  First of Tom Sr. was very kind to explain the layout and how some of the items have come from other layouts created by hand.  I forget the gentleman's name who created them.  Tom showed us the detail and handcrafted items that were present.  He also explained about the expansion that is taking place, yes it's getting bigger, that is behind the black curtain.

Tom Jr I must say did a fantastic job operating the layout.  Trains everywhere running and he kept and eye on all of it.  It's great to see a young man with passion about trains!  All newer motive power as well.  Another thing I appreciated that will be obvious in the videos, is Tom keeps an eye on where you are and where the trains are and does some signalling so if you are shooting video you get some sound as well as action.

As Mark posted an expansion is in the works but if you are even remotely close to Corner Field you have to visit.  You will not leave disappointed...you may not leave.  LOL!  Enough talk here are some pictures and some videos...

The view as you walk in the door...  Tom Jr at the helm in the background.  With all of the layout he's like finding Waldo in this shot.  Hint he's wearing a blue shirt.

And a few videos...

Again well worth the trip folks.  A really amazing piece of work.  You can tell time and patience went into the layout.  The layout is Legacy controlled with many operating accessories around the layout that are available by push buttons.  Incredible level of detail and shear size is amazing..
