Looks nice.  I always like the look of the British trains.  They seem to go so well with the tinplate track.

I guess you are in England?  Who manufactures these models.  I know Lionel did the Shakespeare Express, but it looks like you also have two nice little tank engines I have not seen a greeen (GWR?) and another in burgundy marked London Transit.  Are these available in the US?

Thanks Phil - they were made for tinplate !! Yes, I am in wet England still awaiting a summer. The Pannier in this video clip is an Ace prototype but yes I do have some Darstaed ones including the London Transport one. As Dave Allen has said you can get them from Trains Hoover.

Next time I go to this meet we may see the Ace Streamliner prototype - will keep you all posted!

All the best

Dear All,

First and foremost I hope you are all having a great fourth of July holiday !

All the best

Electroliner,

It was great fun and that night was particularly good. The theme was LMS Railways and there was a good showing but as you can see some GWR and Southern engines had a showing too !! The meeting is on the first Monday of the month, so if you are ever in England....!

All the best

Stoshu,

The seats are most welcome, there is something very relaxing with sitting, talking, drinking beer and watching O gauge trains !

David

PS - I hope you are having a good Independance Day !

I thought that it was strange that Dave Allen (as a commercial Darstaed agent) had access to the private business arrangements between a rival (ACE Trains London) and their supplier (ETS). So I had the courtesy to check with Allen Levy of ACE before saying anything about this. I ought to say that I am merely a very satisfied long-term customer of theirs and have no other connection with the business.

Allen confirms that any business dealings with ETS are confidential - so no third party could know what is what! - and he also confirms that the ACE pannier will have all six wheels driven from the coupling rods (not four of them); each motor will have a clutch, allowing locos to slow smoothly to a stop; and there will be "daylight under the boiler" as in the prototype.

Regards

Dave,

All I can say in reply is the quote I received from Allen Levy on the Ace Trains Forum after posting the video clip ....

"David

Talk about hot off the press!

The Pannier you saw tonight has two pages of amendments to be attended to prior to production. If it impressed you as is thats very positive news for ACE.
It will be 2/3 rail including an isolation switch and polarity switch to enable a pair to run bunker to bunker if required. All driving wheels are attached to the coupling rods. There is daylight under the boiler. The wheels will free wheel when pushed along and will roll on the track when the power is turned off and the loco is coming to a halt"

Dear All.

Please note I buy both Darstaed and Ace products along with a smattering of Bassett Lowke and original Hornby.I would like also to buy some Lionel products too. I support both manufacturers - Ace and Darstaed and run their products on Tinkers Hill for nether payment or reward - just for the enjoyment of others and myself. I will not become involved in any Darstaed/Ace disputes - life is too short.

My mission is to spread the O gauge 3 rail word ! Trains are good - very good !!!

All the best

David

David Webb, good on you. Spread the word.

Some folks are under the impression this loco will be available at any moment. I know that's not the case, and people are entitled to know what's happening or not.

For you information, I'm a hobbyist and retailer, I own and sell Darstaed, Ace, ETS, Basset Lowke, Hornby, MTH Lionel ,Bachmann etc.

Please hurry up and complete your time machine. Besides me, the Eloi are counting on you.

Nicole,

Sussex is a nice part of the country. I am afraid the Eloi and the Morlocks (John !) may have quite a wait - still missing a few vital parts !!

We will have to make do with O Gauge until its completed !

Sorry - whose fight is this? not mine! I don't remember any ref to September - but tomorrow the ACE streamlined Duchess that David Webb has highlighted on the forum will be running on my outdoor layout. Sadly David cannot be there - but a lot of other people will be there! So, Dave far away in Australia, what is your problem? We just take it day by day here in the UK.

John,

The meet is held the first Monday night of every month in the village hall at Northend on the Warwickshire/Oxfordshire county border, not far from Aston Martin and Jaguar Landrover at Gaydon UK. Normally 40 or so people attend for an O gauge and an OO gauge evening. You pay a fiver and get a shepherds pie meal with a can of beer. Great time had by all !!

Nicole,

Glad you liked it - the collector shoe sparks are a touch of genius !

PS - Electroliner - who knows perhaps one day !!!

Being of Welsh heritage, the Welsh narrow gauge is my primary UK RR interest, and

what I have ridden, excluding a BritRail round trip up to Inverness to drive around Loch Ness.

But what is that high bridge in Scotland..across the Firth of Forth?  I stood under that

under a beautiful summer evening and watched a train of what looked like ore cars

(to this Yankee eye) v-e-r-y slowly trundle across, I guess with a speed restriction.

I have read of Welsh narrow gauge models, but are any, in O scale, imported into the

U.S.?

Thanks Bruce and John,

I liked the noise too !

The crane was built by Richard Taylor who organises the club meetings at Cotswold HRCA. It does look pretty impressive. Sadly no still photographs at the moment.

It would be great if a O Gauge manufacturer would make one. I know Hornby make a 00 gauge version. Perhaps Darstaed or Ace could be persuaded.

Not sure if this helps but might be worth contacting these people....
