Anyone have any issues with Windows 8 and the forum? I'm considering upgrading to Windows 8 Professional. Micro Center has it on sale for $39.00.

As a Tech Professional, I can tell you that unless you have a really compelling reason to upgrade, I would not.
Are you using Windows 7 or XP at the moment?

I'm currently using Windows 7 Professional but find that many times my computer will hang up requiring me to re-start. I thought that Windows 8 might solve this issue.
If it ain't broke...don't fix it!
I don't know anything about Windows 8 yet, and likely won't try it for at least another year...maybe when Windows 9 comes out. I still use XP Pro here at the office and everything works just fine, thank you. I have no plan to "upgrade" any time soon.
I just upgraded to Windows 8. I used XP up to October, then Newegg had a special of getting Windows 7 and getting 8 later on for cheap, so I did not used Win7 on my home machine for very long.
It takes some getting used to, but I like the tile interface and Win8 seems quite polished from the get go unlike Vista. Also, the Win95/XP/Vista/7 desktop is still there along with the control panel, hardware manager and administrative tools.
Now to the forum. I have just found in typing this response that the top row number keys are not working in Firefox but the num pad does work. I also found that Chrome neither displayed images nor text, but the links where there when I ran the mouse over the blank page. Of course Explorer worked OK. Firefox and Chrome probably need to update for compatibility with Win8.
Overall, my desktop computer which I recently built seems to have more zip to it with Windows 8. Win8 boots faster and programs load much faster. However, different experiences will occur with different hardware. The better your hardware, the better your experience will be.
Overall, Win 8 is pretty good if you like new things. If you don't like new things, then Win8 is probably not for you.
What is the hurry, stick with what works for now. I never update until it has been out for at least a year. Upgrade now and your asking for trouble.
I have Windows 8 Enterprise installed on a separate partition of my hard drive. I have a Microsoft MSDN account and was able to get a 90 day trial for evaluation. Like most have said, if you are not having any problems with what you already have, there is no need to upgrade.
I do not like the Metro interface and while trying it out spend most of my time using the desktop. The desktop looks pretty much like Windows 7. I am typing this now while in Windows 8 and using Internet Explorer. For the last couple of days I have found no problems using it.
One thing to remember. If you upgrade to Windos 8 from Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7, you can NOT downgrade back to your previous operating system without reformatting your hard drive and doing a new installation of the original operating system.
Just bought a new computer last night and it has Windows 8 on it and I am having a terrible time adjusting to it, going to take some time to learn this system. Would have preferred to have stuck with Windows 7.

What type of PC are you using? Processor memory etc? Your problem is either to weak a PC to handle it or something else. Do you run anti virus and anti malware programs to clean your PC?
I can't help wondering is windows 8 a windows phone operating system?
if so are we looking at the ultimate in cell phone screens!!
sorry if I offended anyone but you have to admit its funny when you think about it.
it seems as windows 8 wants us too use the search feature more to find a simple system tool or if in windows explorer you right click at top to select a saved page or to close them. or use arrows at left and right sides of monitor to do same as the forward and back arrow at top left corner of windows explorer 8 not only visible but simplistic and certainly not hidden but to each there own right.
as to google can only say while I was using google chrome within the september downloaded windows 8 preview it worked very well and was actually faster then as rich calls it windows exploder.
