I am a big fan of the old K-Line Blackbonnet livery. I have both the freight cars and pass set.
Can someone tell me if the K-Line by Lionel offering 6-21199 Passenger set is the same as the original K-Line offering, or is it different either in scale or road numbers?

I'm away from home right now so I can't verify. I think the only Black Bonnet set K-Line by Lionel is the traditional sized ALCO set. I think they were the same cars that RMT is now making. I to like that Black Bonnet paint scheme. I have the F3's from Lionel.

Thank you Bill. That was the information needed. I was hoping there were some new scale cars to go with the original K-Line BlackBonnet offerings.
I still think my Black Bonnet Pass set looks the best of any of my sets.

Yup. I remember seeing that set. It's beautiful. I understand those original K-Line offering are very hard to find.

Are you referring to the K-Line "Midnight Chief" livery with the F-3 ABA set? If so, nothing has ever come out that looks as good as that did.

Hey Chuck, yup - that is the one I referenced. The full set with the F3 ABA and 8 pass cars looks amazing.
The complete freight set (16 cars - four numbers each boxcar, hopper, tank car, and another type of hopper?) along with the very hard to come by Caboose is also quite striking.
I think there was also a scale K-Line Black Bonnet "Business Car" but my memory is fuzzy on that one.
