I recently picked up a secondhand Atlas GP35, (the JD Trains special Rock Island). 3 rail, Lionel Railsound, It came without the instructions. Looking for info on operation. I don't have TMCC so it will be used in conventional and with DCS.
I do not think there is a battery in it, but just searched the Forum and found how that goes in.
When powered up, it idles then after a few seconds revs up a notch, then after a few more seconds revs up another notch. Seems that when the engine is in idle, that the voltage applied makes it rev up into one of the 4 rev steps. When down to 5 or 6 volts, the voltage is still not low enough to drop the revs down to idle as the unit just shuts down.
Question: Is this normal when the engine is not moving.
I will put the battery in and see if it can idle at low voltage.
I am getting another Atlas GP35 late this week, (Missouri Pacific), hopefully it will have instructions.
