Checking the Atlas O website I can find nothing updating the delivery date of the 2R versions of the F-3's. 3R have been out for months and I knew there was some problem with the 2R version. Anyone know what the problem is or when they might be delivered? Has Atlas commented at any of the shows?

I saw one of the new 2 rail F3's run at the local hobby shop last Saturday. It ran very well with the new 15:1 gear ratio. The slow speed starting was vastly improved over the old 10:1 gearing.

It's also good to know that Atlas has finally solved the jackrabbit start problem that plagued their locos in the past. I guess they do listen, eventually.
I haven't owned an Atlas loco since the 1st run of the GP-9's so I'm also hoping they've lowered the F-3 bodies to a more prototypical height. They had a fabulous start with the P&D shell so it would be nice to make it run right and sit at the proper height.

Just confirmed with Jerry Kimble that the 2 Rail F-3's were shipped to dealers a couple of weeks ago. That is good news for those who have been waiting.
