Atlas O sent out a new announcement for new paint schemes for their SW Series Locomotives. There are several here on my personal "buy" list.

The announced engines have an MSRP of $469.95 and are available in both 2-Rail and 3-Rail. They include:

  • SW-8's
    • Boston & Maine
    • Canadian National
    • Rock Island
  • SW-9's
    • Indiana Harbor Belt
    • Maryland & Pennsylvania
  • SW-900
    • Reading
    • Raritan River

We are taking pre-orders, either in the shop or via our website, at 10% off MSRP, free shipping and no deposit.

If you're like me and want both road numbers of a particular road name, we will discount your purchase an additional 5%.

Here are their pictures from the Atlas O announcement:

I've always wanted a Zebra Stripe ATSF SW9.  Atlas produced them once, in the early days.  It was a low production engine. They are impossible to find and there is significant demand.  In like new condition, they still command a new price.  It wouid be a good engine for Atlas to revisit.

The blue/yellow version is NOT of interest to those modeling the transition era.

Well, it's not new, but the price is reasonable....

I've been watching this for some time.  I'm only somewhat interested.  I'm surprised it's lasted on auction this long.

FWIW...

I know what you mean. I was fortunate enough to get my #2 & #3 for under $300 each from two different sources. They are great locos.

I have 1 of those early made ATSF SW9's.   Took me a while to find one.   So ya I second that motion for Atlas to make them again!
