I have an ABBA set of Atlas FM Erie Builts painted for the Olympian Hiawatha (two powered and two dummies). They're a little over 20 years old and still look and run great. Smoke is OK -- good not great (but I don't care about smoke from my diesels as much as from steam engines). Cruise control, sounds, and other electronic features aren't as nice as the recent Lionel or MTH locos, but like most Atlas trains, they're nicely finished and well detailed, mostly prototypical models first and foremost.
Gary....we have an Atlas category so I moved it there. You may want to review the different category offerings we have so that your posts in the future will get more views. Thanks!
My only gripe with Atlas diesels is some of the models are more difficult than Lionel/MTH to work on. They do typically have excellent detailing and paint however.
