Hi, I am brand new to posting on the forum, however have been reading the forum for years. I know this has been discussed in years past, but I am still having issues. MTH DCS app works fine with my TIU WIU setup until I try to add a new engine. Then I get a timed out error message and it no longer can find the TIU. All components are up to date firmware wise. I have tried a test track to add an engine and still doesn't work. It is universal to any engine that I delete and then try to re-add. Thanks in advance. Mike

Well To confirm, The TIU is a firmware 6.10 and the WIU is at firmware 1.1 and the app is the latest version (3.2.1 build 53).
What device are you using the app on? (ipad, Phone, Android).
Are you in MTH or HOME mode on the WIU?
Can the app read & report the firmware version of the TIU?
Yes, all devices are up to date on firmware. Apple iPads, both devices it’s premium app, have been tried. WIU is in MTH mode. Apple devices are only connected to the WIU WiFi network with all other networks forgotten to make sure connection is stable. App reads and reports TIU firmware correctly.
This is an iOS problem. I threw a hail mary and bought an Amazon Kindle Fire for $49 and the DCS app works perfectly.
Hi, when I first tried the app with my iPhone I was having similar issues. I deleted the app and reloaded it. It has worked perfectly ever since. Maybe worth a try if you haven’t tried that yet.
2032 is correct. The solution to the app not finding the TIU is to delete and reload the app and be sure your TIU is on before you finish the setup. The problem is the app, not iOS; it has no function to search for a TIU other than during installation. There are promises that the software will continue to be maintained after MTH closes, we’ll see. I am not optimistic since the app hasn’t been touched in more than 3 years.
I have not had any issue trying to add any locomotives however, once you get the TIU error you have to start over.
I have deleted and reloaded the app on 3 different iOS devices multiple times. The app worked perfectly until sometime in the last 2 or 3 updates to iOS. In each instance the app will not add any engines. It finds the TIU with no problem. Before I deleted the first app download on iOS, it found the TIU and ran the trains but again would not add an engine following iOS update. Switch to Fire tablet and no issues.
Odd, I have an iPhone 12 Pro and an older iPad, both are running iOS 14.5 beta 3 and the app works fine on both.
