Not sure if this will post but here goes...
Edit, does not loop here in the post but does using windows media player...very slight silent spot. Audacity has many features. Anyone mastered this hesitation?

You can zoom in on the waveforms and get pretty precise where you graft them together. I try to find a spot where it won't be obvious that it was a cut-n-paste.
Is there a silent spot in that clip or what are you trying to illustrate?

No silent spot in the clip...just the barely noticeable hesitation at the end in loop( repeat) mode. I expanded and matched wave forms carefully..
More details..once i have edited the file in Audacity i export it to My trains sounds folder on my W7 desktop. WMP opens and plays it. Maybe the "spot" is a WMP issue. I dunno
The hesitation could be the amount of time it takes your player to restart tbe clip.
It is probably the player your hearing, not the clip
Is this something that you could copy/paste a few times in Audacity, and make one longer repeating clip? (not sure what your trying to achieve)
If the waveforms don't match at 0db, you can get clicks, pops or glitches... you are trying to repeat the entire clip?
I havent used Win media player in several years now, but if I recall there is a setting somewhere to adjust the crossover or fade between files. if you can find that setting you should be able to adjust it to over lap the start of one clip with the end of another. It may be helpful to make several copies of the the file and make a playlist out of them as well.
If you are looking to upgrade to a media player that is worth the hype it gets, try VLC media player.

Yes..some research reveals when converted to mp3 or wav, due to compression or something you get that micro silent spot(no pop) . I shall tweak some more or as JGL suggests string several together.

Gapless playback has always been an issue on software players - and pet peeve for those of us who listen to live music recordings. Most PC based stuff will do it now - but - none of my smartTVs can play gapless.

As long as you're working in Audacity - your pretty much in the 32Bit PCM realm...regardless of the source of your import.
At export - it really shouldn't matter what format you use and none should introduce any skips or distortion artifacts/errors.
If you could post the audio file for download - and tell us what your trying to achieve...I'd be happy to take a stab at it.
I made myself some five hour rolling sound recordings for my sound cars. I just pasted together in Audacity, and I get no noticeable issues at the transition.
In audacity look under the menu analyze/find clipping. And under effects... lot's of stuff there too. I fiddled with these items in relation to MTH sound files... but I can't say I can offer an exact solution.
