 My Dad had a 54 Jet black, with the large V8 of that year.  I remember 16-18 year old Teens pulling up on Sunrise High Way, wanting to  race... That 54 Merc blew them away.... every time...  He used to complain about poor gas mileage as it had a 4 BRL carb....  I loved that car, and was one of the best looking in the 50s.... ❤

Hi Paul, it is a 1954 Mercury, Monterey Sun Valley, manufactured by NEO Scale Models.   Plenty of them on the Bay... A little pricey but NEO does make a nicely detailed model....

Not much car activity on the new highway area today...just two cruisers watching over the newly paved road and the arrival of the unoccupied bus station .  The police detail will stay through tomorrow while the road striping is done.  Once stripping is complete, the activity at the bus station will pick-up...some new cars on the scene along with many travelers and bystanders

Paul I like that Bus Station and bus looks very nice

Its So difficult to obtain 1:50 Tractor Trailers for 1970's to 1990's!

Completed additional city street areas today...so that means more cars on the layout...more to come  Great stories above about the '57 and '58 Fords!  Note the '54 Ford convertible to the left...

Guys....we got several alerts that this thread has turned into "memory lane" about real cars, dad's cars, etc. instead of the theme/purpose of this thread.  If you want to talk about the real thing or your childhood memories about the past autos your family had, then please do so on a forum for that purpose.  Don't hijack this thread with those stories...
