I have several older bachmann heritage units (NS 1072, 1066, 8100, and 8102) and I was considering converting them to ESU or TCS. Would it be worth it to rewire the locomotives? We bought them on impulse without thinking because they were on clearance.
I don’t rewrite them unless I question the integrity of the wiring or it does not match wiring convention within the DCC NMRA standards. I do however solder the wires to the the DCC board to guarantee a good connection. The ESU Select Direct is a great decoder preset with LED resistors. I have installed tons of them and the run great and sound amazing
