Back/bulk heads for locos

I have 3 early Lionel locos ( yellow belly, NYC CV, 1990 scale Hudson) that will be upgraded to can motors and proto 2.

In these earlier engines the cab did not include a back head leaving the motor to see. Has anybody ever added one to a locomotive like this? How did you do it? Does MTH or Lionel sell these as separate parts?
