Good Day,
Per Trains magazine: The Belt Railway of Chicago has acquired the first of eight GP23ECO units from Electro-Motive Diesel’s ECO repower line. The units are constructed at the Progressive Rail shop in Tacoma, WA.

They were made from EMD GP40s. MTH can have them produced using their GP40.

They look great! Thanks for posting. I hope MTH or Atlas can reproduce these.

I've always liked the BRC paint scheme. I wonder if these have extra ballast like their older power?

Awesome looking, great paint, and being EMD...they'll run for freaking ever! ! US railroading ain't done yet !
Thanks for posting this update on motive power. The Belt Railway has always been at the heart of what is the divide between eastern and western roads and the changing of their consists and exchanging them is really under appreciated by the railfan community at large. The color scheme is terrific and I am glad they stuck with it as a tradition.
