"Coal. I love the smell of burning coal."
There's nothing like the aroma of diesel to wake you up in the morning- it gets the blood flowing!
JT Mega-Steam "Coffee". The "Hot Chocolate" comes in a close second. It went over well with visitors at the club, too.
In my opinion, all smoke fluid has a scent, no matter how it's labeled. That includes JT's "NADA", which - to my nose - has an acrid scent, despite prodigious smoke production (not intended as a criticism, just my opinion). The smoke fluid I find least offensive (and I like lots of smoke) is MTH's unscented. It doesn't bother my wife as much, either. Hey, I know what's important!

Original Lionel pellets!
That is what smoke fluid should strive to smell like. Just IMHO.
JT's Coal-Fired Steamer is my favorite. However, if they ever came out with a flavor called "2-Stroke Outboard Motor" I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
I tried MTH's "coal" when it first came out and to me it smelled like tires burning. Ugh! I do like JT's cedar, and the original American Flyer scent. But if someone came out with Charcoal Grill, I would have to try it...!
I rarely smoke but when I do, I prefer JT's baking bread.

Coffee or fresh bread from the caboose seems practical.
I'm trying out MTH ProtoSmoke "Christmas" has a nice pine sent.

JT's Mega Steam Original Cedar its' the closest to the American Flyer smell I remember as a kid.
Barts or Mega steam cedar both smell similar to AF original.
