and appears all is good.
a question video shows both stacks emitting smoke at same time I thought it was supposed to be alternating smoke with each chuff?
Just curious or is it a video glitch?

There was much controversy about that feature, so Lionel made user selectable. Hot Water and other said that all the stacks would not alternate,  while Lionel said that is how it works. I have never seen a photo of the inside of a Big Boy so no idea how it is plumbed.

I guess once the 4014 is running again we will know who was right

No different than the 3985 Challenger, and it NEVER "alternated" the exhaust smoke from the twin stacks, no matter whether she was a coal burner nor after the conversion to oil burning.
