I'm considering buying the Boys 400e.  I'm thinking the light blue with nickle trim would look pretty nice pulling my pastel 200 series cars. If you have one how do you like it?  If so, would you be kind enough to share some photos? If you don't have one but seen one at a train show, train club or if your friend has one..I would be interested in hearing your thoughts as well.

Thanks!

Probably doesn't add much to the conversion (but I'll say it anyway ).  I bought the girl's Standard Gauge set and I like it.  I know there are some here that prefer to stick to original Lionel prewar colors, but I prefer the variety of what MTH/LCS has been producing (items with railroad name, new colors).

I too prefer smaller engines (waiting to see if they redo the 390E soon), but if I were a rich man, I'd have bought the boy's set too!

I hope for the op that someone here can post a video or photos as I too would love to see it.

Sunrise Special,

The 400E looks great even in Baby Blue, heck it's another 263E with a twist.  However I originally passed on this 400E P3 because it has a wireless Draw Bar & no Tether, not sure how the 400E is going to run thru my FasTrack Command Control Switches, with the wireless Draw Bar engineering.   Steve have you run your 400E Boys Train thru multiple switches and how does it act doing it?  I really do like this 400E Boys Train, but I like Tin with Tether!

Aw man,  there is a really beautiful black original 400E with copper trim that just came up on eBay with a starting bid of $1500.  This is when the balalaikas start and I dance around the house with my arms across my chest singing 'if I were a rich man'...

Just a little bitty, bitty, bitty, bitty, bitty, bitty rich.  Oh well.
