@RailRide - Hey I really enjoyed seeing the pictures of your Lima coaches and the various livery. One question and I apologize in advance as I expect you will think it stupid, but what does the abbreviation "UIC" stand for? Thanks
Best wishes

I acquired another postwar Lionel 2356 Southern F3 ABA set. As almost all postwar Lionels it needed some tlc, replacing some wires, clean motors and brushes, grease and oil, also some cleaning to the E-unit. It runs like it suppose too.
I picked up this GYROS pin vise. What I like about it is that stored inside it has two interchangeable reversible collets that will handle a lot of your small drill bit needs. Now, I don't have to go searching my tool box for each different collet when changing bits.

Nice. I bought a pin vice kit on the Big A recently. Good selection of drills but the vice leaves a lot to be desired. Interchangeable collet is nice.

Great find, although I have several that will be soon in my toolbox. Like clamps you can't have too many
@Training Wheels - Hey thanks for the explanation of the abbreviation "UIC" I had not seen that before. Thanks for posting.

As l want a variety of period "O" scale vehicles, l just got in a kit, not assembled, so no photo, of a 1937 Studebaker cab over "grain" truck (sugar beets here) , also offered by Sylvan, Canadian kit builder, are REA box trucks, and tractor cabs. I am thrilled to get a different make than one, and drool over their HO vehicle offerings. This appears to be 1/48, as stated, so may need to be kept at a distance from 1/48.
Distance from 1/43.
Well two or three weeks ago Scott posted his new find!
Well I am not really looking to expand so not paying attention to latest catalogs! But when I saw his find had to have one . I was born , raised , and matured in Youngstown, OHIO. Only second to Pittsburgh in steel production!
So when I saw this Polar Express "Hot Chocolate Thermos Car" made from a shortened Hot Metal Car just had to have it!.
Most probably my last accession !!

Sylvan is great, but one of the reasons I went to O scale, is because O scale vehicles take more room that HO scale and I couldn't get enough HO scale Vehicles to fill the places I wanted for them
Guttersnipe.. wanting to fill too much space seems like a unique situation in this hobby! Good on that! I just searched Sylvan's Canadian site and found two more desireable O scale items ... A 1929-48 Divco, (special order), and a 1937 Stude highway bus that l wonder if was ever used as a school bus?
The Divco, is one I avoided at all costs. learned to Drive in one of those on my Dad's retail milk route. Stand up, no seat no door stick shift. Couldn't wait to take over his 56 Buick. I must confess 1/87 automobiles was a second hobby. There were four different '63 Rivera's on the market and not one of them was in scale. They were another item that I could have in miniature. Buying a classic auto was like buying a real f7.
I saw these yesterday and couldn’t resist. I picked up both AA powered units. The dark green and orange are so cool. Very excited that these will be my first New Haven engines in my collection.
Does anyone know what kinds of passenger trains these pulled or freight? I know Atlas is making some New Haven heavyweights not sure if those would go with these beauties?
@cbq9911a - Loved the "Dirt the cat" boxcar - do you know if the Nevada Northern RR museum sells these by mail? Thanks

Like many of you, I have different reasons for buying trains. Among them are, the voices told me to get it, nostalgia, club related; or The, Joe McDoakes syndrome. This was a different scenario. When @Donnie Kennedy posted this PRR set F/S, and I was looking out of curiosity, the name Caleb Strong jumped out at me. There was a family connection there. I looked up who Caleb Strong was; and I found information that he was at one time the governor of Massachusetts. When I was reading about him, I found his wife’s name was Sarah. Again a connection. Not wanting to let this go; because I have already started my Great grandson on Brio. I thought that this would be a nice set for him to have. So here it is.
I sent in the order for these and never heard back so completely forgot about them. Until the wife told me I got a big package! I think these look really great!
I got both road numbers made, thank you folks at the Train Loft for getting these made!
No pictures but I took advantage of some @MrMuffin'sTrains recent sales. I purchased the Big Boy Vision line set. I just unboxed the engine - WOW. Amazing. I also purchased a Atlas powered unpowered F7 AB in SP bloody nose. Finally I purchased the Henry Heieke heavy weather L&N Lionel diesel.
Can't wait to have my new layout built.

OHH That Rio Grande is SHARP!
I have 3 train shows coming up soon so I've been hoarding my cash like a squirrel. 2 small shows in Taylor PA then the Allentown PA wallet-killer in November. Really excited for them all.
Well,I finally went commando..I mean command control. Found a nice deal on a base\cab1,some power masters and fused connectors. So glad I did it. Having full control of TMCC features is awesome. And it's nice to run my conventionals thru the remote.
I've got a base and Cab1 that i had hooked up for a very short period of time before the 8x8 layout came down many years ago As I get more engines serviced I may have to try it again for my full features of my TMCC engines. With a 4x8 and even if I extend a little I won't really be walking around the layout.

Donnie;
Congrats on finally leaving the dark side and emerging into the LIGHT. Can a Base3 be far behind???
Baby steps Paul..baby steps. 😂
Hey Deuce, that's a really nice Alco PA set you have there. I have one too and your's is actually the only other one I've seen in all these years! Rare - I don't know, but handsome. MTH has a Premiere set and 3rd Rail made some a few years back but Lionel hasn't redone these in Legacy

I made the same leap a few years ago Donnie. Never looking back and I still wonder why I waited so long.
