Scored this K-line S2 for $28.00. My second to go with a B&O Chessie version. My K-line collection is starting to surpass my Lionel's. Also have two MP-15's (PRR, LIRR), and a PRR Plymouth.

I plan on spray painting the blue beams a rust color so I can stage a new sky scraper building scene.
I too had the set on the left as a kid!! Wow! What a great find! Brings back memories!

Dumpster.
Picked up the MTH Country Passenger Station NIB for $5 at our TTOS Club meeting. Also the K-line Milwaukee Transfer Caboose ... never seen one so snatched it for $30 ... probably too much but KY wanted it ;-)
This is for Matt:
Test ran my new to me Vision Line Big Boy. This is the reason I tore down my layout and started over. What an awesome engine.

Bruce, im a little sorry to see it go but in the 2+ years I had it she only ran 3 times. That's just not enough.
hey Matt and Bruce, congratulations on the sale. Did Bruce ask you to triple pack this monster of an engine, I told him that would be wise in making the deal. I am glad everyone is happy and Yes, it likes broad curves, 099 and up. My layout allows this engine to really stretch out and roll. Happy Railroading and thanks for the pictures.....WOW!
This loco got to him in factory packaging
hey Matt, that's usually good enough, but, I recommend taking that factory packaging and placing it in a larger carton with lots of plastic peanuts for insured no damage. I am glad all was well. I have seen this big engines come through the inner Styrofoam.... Take care.
Larry, Ive shipped a few trains and this shipped in all the factory packaging. I was good enough to get it to my house and it was good enough to get it to Bruce.
Hey Matt, I know you are a great packer, and I am seriously not making issues with this, I am saying, this is how I pack these engines for long journeys. I sent my VL Big Boy to a friend for some tweaking, it came back with the number boards bent a little. We just tweaked them right back to correct position. Thanks for responding, it's just the way I ship....I did receive my Southern SD45 High hood Diesel...

That building set makes me think of "American Skyline". I loved that building set. It was more S-gauge than O, but it made great looking skyscrapers. You can find it also occasionally on eBay.
Im trying to recall the name of the guy that that a few years ago, had posted some nice photography of a similar metal building kit from the tinplate era. El Gaucho?
I just received my 2017 MTH Club car in the mail today. I don't normally go for these sorts of things but this one looked cool.

I trust you know their history, with their popularity of decades ago coming to a quick end when it was discovered how easily they were tipped over, causing quick fires, given their highly flammable liquid contents (kerosene ?) .

They're full of wax and mineral oil and yes that does count as lately. I have one almost that age.
Picked up a vision line big boy today from my local train store. Been saving up for it for a few months and finally got it.
I came home to this really cool 1941 Scale-Craft tank car kit. It's an all diecast tank and frame. Can't wait to put it together when I get time. I managed to be the only bidder at $9.99 on this one, I got lucky!

Not really something new in a way but a necessity for sure. Got my Midwest cork roadbed today. Was down to my last few and didn't want to run out and have to wait for some. So now I am good to go. ..............Paul

Yes, as they say, it is a Doorstop! I have another one that needs restored.
Continuing with the theme, got this Ambroid kit last weekend and couldn't wait to tear into it.
Hmmmmmmm? Where did I put those instructions?
Too late to return the kit for a refund. Guess I'll have to finish it.

Ah, your first! Now you will be hooked on Atlas O cars. I love them!
Thanks Mark. It said 2RL on the site but not sure if its actually a 3 Rail item when it gets to my house.
I like Atlas too, but they're delicate. Can't take the beating that MTH can. Same goes for their engines. No one has engineered the model diesel like MTH. Just try to change a light bulb in an Atlas engine.
Steamboy,
Hmmm...I'm not sure about that. I have never seen a 2RL to know. On a hopper, as long as it couples and the wheel flanges stay on the track, I wouldn't think it matters. The coupler sure looks like a 3-rail one and not a Kadee size, though I am told you can couple Kadees to 3-rail oversized couplers. Please share with us when you receive the hopper.
Myles,
You are so right about the delicate details. I do not have any of their engines, but I can imagine working on one care must be given.
I will Mark. Do you know how long it takes for Atlas to ship an item if you buy one from their website?

I do not. I have always bought through a dealer either a physical store or online.
Steamboy, just awhile back I ordered from their website. A tank car off their site. If I remember I think it took about a week or less.......Paul

Just picked up my MTH 20-20756-1 Amtrak Veterans Genesis Locomotive from Just Trains today. Very sharp looking unit. From what the people at Just Trains told me that this unit sold very well.
