Yesterday and today picked up two "very special" box cars to add to roster which I needed like another hole in my head. A couple months back also picked up a special cab. Now the cab was to complete a semblance representation of the caboose trains that run here at the NCTM.
But what is so special they all belonged to JERRY! Jerry was a fellow O-Gauger and original "baby boomer" like myself but a little older. A happy guy always telling jokes. He and his wife owned a farm with many Quarter Horses and almost as many old John Deer tractors.
My best memory is a train show we did together. The deal was buy three tables and get a forth free. So we had a U-shaped end cap two tables each. I always take dynamic test stand to run engines. Had a MTH RK 611 on it. I was running it and "playing the whistle" as he returned from the restroom. When he got to our tables he opened his wallet and bought the engine explaining hearing the whistle he had to have it.
The cab,
The box cars.
Jerry passed last Summer from cancer which was suppose to be in remission.
To Jerry!
OH, a fellow Jerry worked with a HO-moldier and guy from the local toy train shop are selling off his collect for Jerry's wife.
