The date is May 28, 1954 and the location is Cisco, CA. The Backwood Special has come to a stop so 4224 can get a drink. The photographer, George Manley, managed to get out of the train when the train came to a stop and got this shot. People were beginning to pile out of the train and, according to George, SP officials, told everyone to get back on the train. George believes he was the only one of the people that got off that was able to get a snapshot.
It was September 1956 and 4209 was one of the last AC's to be completed and shopped. The 4209 is EB on the hill just out of Martinez, CA, in the late afternoon, working her way to the bridge.
