I am building a three rail tubular track layout powered by a ZW. At the back (less easily seen) part of the layout, I have two mainlines running parallel, one powered by the A post, the other by D. One of the trains will be coming from both directions.
I’m using insulated track to activate my post war crossing signals. Is there a way to wire the crossing signal so that either track will activate them.

yes just use a insulated track on both lines and wire the wire from the track to signal if both trains are on the insulated track at the same time it will be working when the longest train or the onE that leaves the insulated track last the it will stop working theN

The trigger for a crossing gate is usually the common rail. In most cases, even if two different track circuits, the common rails are still electrically the same.
Common ground is the answer.
