Seems like all I'm getting is the US Army 0-4-0 and the Railway Cannon. That CSX F40ph is super tempting but I would only be getting one of the engines and all of my other engines and rolling stock are traditional sized so that probably wouldn't work out all too well. At least the 4 wheeler is already a small engine so that should blend in """fine""".
Powered and dummy Illinois Central Heritage ES44AC. Have a concern of them being cancelled after Sunset canceled the IC Death Star SD40-2.
I have a few things already preordered from the new Catalog!
- The Vision Line Norfolk & Western Class A #1210 WW2 Era version
- The Vision Line Pennsylvania Railroad “What If” Class A #3701, an exclusive run for MrMuffin’sTrains
- The Legacy Reading & Northern F9 AB unit set
- The Legacy CN Heritage BC Rail ES44AC #3115
- The Legacy Canadian National Veterans ES44AC #3015
- The Canadian National Veterans Bay Window Caboose

"I really wanted the Quilling Pigs but I can't bring myself to spend $400 on a pig"
$330 plus shipping from Charles Ro on pre-order. Not too bad for a sound car and two other freight cars these days. Couldn't resist the NYC stock car quilling pig at this price.
Pulled the trigger on the LC+2.0 Genesis Set, and the LC+2.0 NYC Hudson. And a few add-on cars for the LC Super Chief set that I bought around Christmas.
I will expand my fleet into the southern region of the U.S.

"What price beauty?" said the famous writer.

Will the safety valve steam be moved away from the whistle steam so it doesn’t blend together? Or think it would take away from the accuracy of the train too much?

Safety valve steam is supposed to come out of safety valves, just as whistle steam is supposed to come out of whistles. Anywhere else is wrong.

I know that, my point was that they’re basically on top of each other.

So, where should they move whistle steam? Under the bell?
For the money these things cost, locomotive appliances should be in their proper locations. Particularly as others have talked about getting other details correct for particular Class A's.

I don’t think it’ll be too big of an issue since the safety valve steam effect won’t be constantly on. I have a Legacy Pennsylvania S1 duplex with the safety valve effects on it and it only randomly pops off every once in awhile. The effect itself once on last for about 20 or 30 seconds before shutting off again.

No I like it in the correct spot. I’d just rather have cylinder steam.
This video is why I say that it literally pours out of the cylinders.
Pulled the trigger and ordered the CNW Berk. Next, the wife will pull the trigger on me

32.40 on this video is the safety valve effect. It’s very cool.

You don’t have to pay for it for a year. Start siphoning a little cash here and there and keep it aside until this delivers this way you don’t have to put the whole thing on the CC. 😜
Finally settled on one of the Amtrak Phase 3 F40PH's and one of the Phase 4 Cabbages.
Do they match? NOPE. But I like these schemes most.
I missed out on the first run of these in 2016, and after missing out on most of the second run of the B6sb Switchers in 2020 among other locomotives, I'm not letting the same happen again.
I would've liked to preorder more like one of the Berks and the Black River set, but funds right now aren't permitting. I still have the Strasburg no. 90 on order, anyways.
I ordered these 64' Woodsided Passenger cars. I have way too many but I'm addicted to them.
I find the Chapel car very interesting and think it rather funny that the MOW set has an observation car:

I bought more than I initially thought I would. I pre ordered both of Mr Muffins NKP custom runs (Atlantic and Harry Painted 0-6-0). I also ordered a Class A 1218, a PRR 0-4-0, phase 3 f40ph, and the swift vision line stock cars. Oh! And I decided to take a leap and get the base 3
Much more than I expected, but I talked myself into the class A after I got a great deal on some older NS excursion cars.
the lionchief csx dash 8 is the only thing i'm getting
although i really wanted something scale like the Norfolk Southern 40th Anniversary set but i can't afford it or run it with my current situation
so i have to pass on the NS

@paigetrain, I think you’ll enjoy the dash 8 when you get it. Glad you’re able to pick up a new engine!
I hhad hoped they would have offered one in the Amtrak livery. The LC dash 8 would be a good size for the RailKing cars and tighter curves.
Well I went with the base 3 the AC&W F9 and 2 pk heavyweight cars, csx 2 pk heavyweight cars csx f40ph #1 armed forces es44 2022 and cp 7020.

I’m surprised there hasn’t been much mention of the CSX business train. I thought that was a really cool item and I would have preordered some of it if I had a scale/legacy size layout.
Just ordered the yellow F7 AA Union Pacific diesel set. Was trying to decide between that and the purple A.C. &W F9 AB set with the superbass B unit.

I really thought about it, but I decided that I'd rather have the ACWR business train.

I went with that train as well. I live 2 hours north of that railroad and that livery is guaranteed to be a real crowd pleaser along the lines of the SP Daylight.
Ordered the Visionline Class A Number 1238. Fingers are crossed that all of the corrections will be made.
Figured I'd ask, when does Lionel (usually) announce which items are getting canned? I'm hoping my first crack at a BTO locomotive doesn't end with a "cancelled due to low orders" email.
Well, I guess I have to order something or I would not be in this hobby. I always buy from sommerfelds in Butler, WI(Milw). Always fair and they do repairs. Ordered two of each of GBW rs27. I know they are MTH tooling, which I had one of but at least now I can run with the Legacysystem. Still looking at a few other items but these are the top of the list. Hope with having tooling already maybe Lionel will be able to turn some of these faster(ha ha).
I pulled the trigger on the Amtrak 6 car Phase III Heritage set. Skipped the diner as I'm not interested in the sounds but will pick up a K-Line or equivalent and get it painted to match. Now I have most of what I am looking for on a circa 1990 Broadway Limited. Still need the baggage / dorm, but I have a donor car that is close with some rework and I am patiently waiting on GGD 2nd run Slumbercoaches.
After picking up the diner (no sound) / coach ATSF expansion set to complete my Santa Fe #42 / 47 I was impressed with the overall build quality of the cars. That was what put me over the top as this is my first Lionel pre-order.
I ended up going with the Canadian National Veterans ES44AC #3015 and the matching Canadian National - Bay Window Caboose. I also decided to get two of the Canadian Pacific Veteran SD90Mac units, CP #7020 (Army/Solid Green) and CP #7023 (Air Force/Grey on Grey). I already have a MTH Premier CP #7021 (Army/Desert). I am very interested to see how the Lionel versions compare to the MTH in regards to the CP Veteran units.

I'm getting four of the CP military tribute locomotives. I think they are a big hit for Lionel.
First post on OGR - been out of the hobby for awhile but man this catalog dragged me back in.
Preordered the WWII Class A #1210 and the UP Solid Rocket Booster Train. I work at the Cape so that one was a must have!
It probably won’t be long until the Desert Victory SD40-2 grows on me enough to pick that one up too.
Put my order in for a CAB 3, a few of the new coil cars and a Canadian Pacific Heritage SD90MAC # 7010, although the CP military units look great.
