I’ll be the first to post that January 2018 issue of OGR is less than 100 pages. Are we running out of topics?

Not necessarily.  But a ton of topics get discussed right here on the forum.  So it might blur the line between "fresh" magazine content and a re-vamped forum topic.

That might be one of the biggest content challenges OGR is facing for print media in these changing times -- especially as they try to balance their brand between print magazine and a strong social media presence (i.e., this forum).  Think about it... sponsors may find a better ROI on forum traffic vs. exposure in the printed magazine.

Oh, c'mon Rich, you're being way to practical. In this entitlement culture, shouldn't every magazine be at least 200 pages? Shouldn't every train catalog be full of brand new products from brand new tooling, based upon obscure prototypes

Seriously, there's a big difference between running trains on a train layout versus running a company that makes products related to, or for that train layout. And just because one buys a train product doesn't mean you have stock in that particular company either. We've had train companies that did too much, too fast and are now no longer in business. I'd rather see companies do what they have to do to stay in business, over trying to please a vocal minority and then go out of business. That benefits no one.

In case any one hasn't noticed, the Model Railroader magazine is also way down in pages too. And the HO/N markets are bigger than our 3-rail market with its' many sub-niches within that market.
