Chris and Linda Lonero in Wilmington MA had the bad luck to have water damage to their basement and layout about a year ago. Not to be discouraged, Chris took the opportunity to redo some parts of the layout as he replaced and repaired the damaged areas of the train room. His top loop is an MTH #85 Race Car set, lower down is an O Gauge loop, bottom loops are side by side O Gauge on the outer loop and Tin Plate on the inner loop. He added an O gauge subway under the existing layout, then an American Flyer loop just off the floor where he used to have storage. Total of 5 layers, 6 loops. No sidings, just lots of running trains.

Chris spent a lot of time decorating his layout for Christmas, and invited us, Passenger Train Collector Brian Vaill and his wife Elizabeth, and Captain John  to see his newly redone layout and run trains.

When we left the Lonero's, Chris and Linda introduced us to a great new restaurant in their town, then Marty, me, Captain John, and Chris all came back to Dedham where Dave Connolly joined us to run more trains.

I spent the day with some of the nicest people in this hobby. Chris & Linda have an awesome layout with a little bit of everything from American Flyer to O gauge to Standard gauge. Thank you Chris & Linda for inviting us all over to your home. Lunch was outstanding! Alan Arnold, it was great talking to you on the phone. You have to get over to New England to see all of our layouts.

Happy Holidays,

We had a wonderful time at the home of Chris & Linda. They are both two terrific people in our hobby. This was the first time for us at Chris's layout, and it was a real treat. The details are phenomenal. I particularly liked what he did with his 115 Station and the use of ceramic tile for the walkway. Very, very, creative. But that is what this layout is all about.

Marty, Dotty, Captain John and our hosts, it does not get any better. This was a totally fun day filled with great friendships. And Alan, it felt like you were there with us. Thanks for the call, very thoughtful of you.

We both had a wonderful day with some of best people in the hobby not to mention some of the best friends a guy and gal could have! It was a pleasure having you all over and thank you everyone for the kind words. One other "interesting" part of the flood story is that just the day before "The great flood" I fell at work on some freshly plowed snow and injured a couple of ribs leaving me pretty incapacitated and out of work for 3 weeks! Worst part of all we had to miss Trainstock! I think missing vinni's cooking hurt more than my ribs did!     Thanks everyone.

Guys....thanks so much for the wonderful videos and pictures of your get together!  Marty had called me Friday night and had to leave a message as LaKeeta and I were with several other couples (train nuts!) having dinner and then came back to our place for a night of trains.  I returned Marty's call Saturday to find all of you together at Chris' place so it sure was nice of Marty to hand over the phone to each of you so that I could give you my Holiday wishes!  You guys are the best!!

Thanks...

Alan
