I picked up the softcover book 'Collector's Guide to Classic O Gauge Trains' by David Doyle at a discount chain store this past week for a very good price. It was published in 2007 and because of that it might only have limited appeal.
In any event here are some preview scans of the book and perhaps it will be of interest to one of the readers out there.

Might be a nice find. Do the individual chapters on the companies have the corporate history of each?

Yes- the introduction to each chapter has a very well written 2-3 page history of each company. I felt that it was interesting to read- especially companies such as Marx and other smaller companies.

I purchased a copy of that book at Ollie's outlet about a year ago ( for about 2 bucks). It was Kind of interesting. However if I remember there was some kind of problem with the book or the author when it first came out. Maybe someone here will remember that.
