Connecting Culvert loader to SC-2

Looking for some help in connecting the latest release (2011?) of Lionel's Culvert loader to a Lionel SC-2 accessory controller.

The manual doesn't cover it.

The loader has 4 binding posts - 2 are for power (this also provides constant power for the interior lighting) and the other 2 are for the on/off switch of the action. This second pair of posts requires no tap from the transformer - You simply take two wires from the these posts directly to the on/off switch.

I assumed that a set of inputs (ground and on/off) C-2 would simply replace the provided on/off switch but that doesn't seem to be working.

Any ideas are appreciated.
