This control panel came in with some used trains the shop bought a few weeks ago. I just thought it had that old school, simple look to it.

Yes, there is some old equipment there all right. It looks to be very neatly done.
It's a beautiful thing !
JMHO, as uusual
What a sweet lookn' thing! I would guess it is missing one or two pieces. I'd buy it!! It would fit right in with all my early prewar.Right next to my three Z's. Gotta Luv It!
I have a transformer very similar to the one you have pictured. Early 30's or late 20's maybe. You had to stop your train to move the speed up or down. As for the rest of the set, it looks likes a well designed controller. I will have to search around tomorrow and look over my unit. Well, I searched tonight and found it. The one I have was made by Lionel but no date was on it. It came with a Ives set that is early thirties during the Lionel take over of Ives.

I have a unit similar to your transformer. It was made by Lionel and it was in a Ives set I bought from an older fellow who wanted to sell it to some one who could appreciate it. I place this set in the early thirties

neat and functional.
Sometimes old school is the best school!!!
Steve,
Seriously historic control panel, just fantastic, I do believe however the switch controllers are a little to new for the rest of the equipment. However the entire old control panel is a Lionel work of art.

Cool control panel. Reminds me of stuff my Grandpa used to build in his basement shop. He was always working on some kind of electrical doodad.
All it needs are some of those old Dymo labels on everything, then it really would look like something he made!
nice find, very cool!
