When I post a link I simply copy the link location (https://ogrforum.com/forums) and past it into the next line of my post.  When I click on it it opens a new screen to the link, while keeping the present OGR link open as well.  I don't click on any icon in the tool bar that opens so I can paste the link inside (like I do when I post a photo).  As a matter of fact, the "Insert/Edit link" and "unlink" icons are faded out on my screen.

On some folks post, when I click on the link location it closes the OGR link screen and goes to the new location.

Is there a correct way we should be doing it or are both ways acceptable?

The link icon (chain) is grayed out until you have selected the text you wish to link.

In other words, if you want the words "My layout" to be a link. First, type the words "My layout" in your post. Then select these words with your mouse. The chain icon will now become active. Click the chain and the link box will open. Paste the URL of your link in the first field of this box. You do not have to do anything with the other three fields.

You can choose to open the link in the same window or in a different window (choices are in the second link window field). The default is to open in a new window, which I think is more convenient for the user.

Thanks guys!

Seems like the way I've been doing it is easier/quicker, just copy and paste.

With having to type something, like C&NW Class Z 2-8-0, then go back and highlight it, then insert a link location, then choose how you want it displayed (not how the end user might like to see it) seems cumbersome.

Rich, will my way create problems with Hoopla?
