I'm an MTH guy now that I've just ponied up for a full DCS remote commander set up - sadly this will leave my old lionel geep with it's single pulmor on it's own track - but my 3 RMT beefs and the one beep will be scrutinized for a DCS control board install...if there's enough room!{I got them on sale so that helps alot to a conversion cost}

I'm not aware of anyone attempting to stuff a Proto 2 (don't know about P3) into a Beep, but being in the midst of a P2 upgrade on a Greenbrier, I'd say they won't fit. Electric RR co does have boards designed for/that will fit a Beep.

My plans for command upgrades involve using both DCS and TMCC, depending on the model involved, and there are a couple of examples that no sane person would install a command board in --insert mad doctor laugh here--but the K-Line Plymouths are a bit of a puzzle. I may need a "command reciever car" for those.

 I should point out that I don't require sound and/or smoke in everything I upgrade--it's a given on DCS upgrades, but for the most part I'm just looking to make most units operable in a command environment.

You ain't kiddin that Beep is small in there, that's why it's on my list of "it could happen". The Beefs, now that's do-able.

I stare at my 0-8-0's proto2 board and wonder if one could be cut up and jumpered to accordian the thing to fit - totally crazy idea, I know.

I wish MTH made "mini" proto boards for tight fit applications! I'll do a search for the electric RR board...maybe that could work.

A side thought for the Beefs would be to tether the 2 A units and install the proto board on the dummy...would be a problem when I add the B unit though.

I'm getting the K-Line Porter, we'll see if I can stuff it into that one.

I fianlly saw one of those at the LHS last weekend..neat lil engine...don't know if it's worth the $158 they were asking{HTusa}. I wouldn't even try a board with that one...tiny!...that would definately need a commited boxcar to carry a board to it via a tether....cable...whatever ya want to call it.
