Coupler Problem

I have a relatively new set of the Vision Line 30k gal Ethanol Tank Cars. The coupler on one end keeps coming open for no reason. Bought this set from friend who bought it new from a dealer. Friend never took cars out of their original boxes. I am the first to run these cars. Coupler did not start coming open until I had about an hour of run time on the car. Now it may run 10-15 mins with no problem then all of a sudden coupler will pop open. Running on Fastrack with 072 remote/command control switches.

What to do? Please help! Thanks in advance!

Usually when I have that problem I put a small rubber band around the shank.  Where in the train are you running them sometimes at the front of train the weight on the coupler causes them to come open.  Also maybe that little pin that goes up into the coupler may be a bit short so it has a tendency to let the coupler open under weight..............Paul

hi check on this forum sight many forum members have address issues with many types of couplers coming unhooked while being puled around track . there are special fixes you can apply and ,many pictures to tell you how to address these issues. Great forum for these type of problems and how to repair these issues very simply!
