I have a MTH E8 ABA 20-2237-1.  I wanted to clean the wheels and grease the gears of the second "A" unit and could not get it to run in my cradel.  The first "A" unit ran no issues with alligator clips and wires to my transformer.  It was not connected to the first "A" unit.  In order to get the motor to run, do I have to have the two "A"s connected?

Thanks

Going back to the date these were produced there is a Lead-Unit and a Slave-Unit.  And yes the Slave must be plug up to the Lead.
