Officially confirmed on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, Dan Pluta, long time Chief Mechanical Officer for the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad has departed employment from WMSR. No indication give, as of yet, concerning the circumstances surrounding his departure.
Darned shame, as Dan is an extremely knowledgeable steam and passenger car man (He is also one of the Contract Inspectors for Amtrak, doing inspections on private cars and steam locomotives). Sure hope his departure doesn't negatively effect the rebuild of C&O 2-6-6-2 #1309.
