I am converting my Lionel Fastrack layout to DCS.  I am also installing a Lionel 71-4713-250 Drawbridge.  I want to put it in an isolated block to prevent any disasters when the bridge is in the raised position.  My concern is that the center rail of the isolated block is powered through the bridge in the down position and the wire gauge on the bridge is much smaller than the 16 gauge wire I am using for the rest of the layout.  Will I lose my DCS signal strength because of the smaller gauge wire in the isolated block section?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  I looked in Barry's bible, but just couldn't come up with an answer.  Thanks!

shackdaddybass,

If the DCS signal fades in that area, which I do not think it will, simply put a street light in that area to boost the DCS signal, I had several places on my large FasTrack DCS layout that required this addition.  I also used lighted lock on in front of my old Lionel switches for the same reason.  You can thank Marty for that knowledge, it was his find, long ago.
