I have a conventional layout powered by two MTH Z4000 transformers: one of them powers the two independently powered and interconnected main lines, and the other Z4000 powers the 8 independently powered sidings. I run trains from the sidings to the main lines and vice-a-versa.

I am getting an MTH DCS Explorer. I know I need to connect that Explorer device with wires so wires run between the transformer and the device, and between the device and the track.

Can I  connect one Explorer device with wires to both Z4000 transformers?

Do I need to do that to run MTH PS 2 and 3 locomotives with the DCS Explorer on my entire layout (main lines and sidings)?

If one Explorer device cannot be connected to both of the transformers, do I need two Explorer devices to run those MTH trains on my entire layout?

Once I get answers to the above, I may need to ask questions about how to make the necessary connections.

I GREATLY appreciate any and all input and advice regarding the above.

Arnold
