IT WILL LEAVE THE INCOMING TRACK DEAD ELECTRICLY UNTIL THE BRIDGE IS IN PALCEAND PLACE AND PLUGGED IN TO THE SYSTEM.

Here's what we did for our modular layout with the lift bridge. The push buttons at the top are the microswitches that sense the bridge is closed. The relay was just a 24V DC relay we had in the parts box. The circuit drops power to the bridge module and the connected module on each side when the bridge is up.
