Not the newest Legacy 'K-Line' models but am curious about the earlier ones produced from about 2001 (Erie No 3315) through the first Legacy model of that era. We had the Erie and were very pleased with it and I notice that it was made in Korea. Are they all Korean manufactured? Ours had RS4 and I see that some have RS5.

Any suggestions as to pitfalls or problems with them?  Which ones are the more desirable from an operating standpoint please?

C Sam:

I have had several right through the PM issued before the version with the seperate tenders. They have all been excellent runners, and I have not noticed any difference in the level of detail from the first ones on through. Right now we have the Erie, NKP, then the later produced C&O, and the PM. Once we get the new layout up and running I intend to use several of these for running when we are open for public display.

C Sam, I don't know if all were made in Korea -I was told that some of the last run  were China, , but I do know that for sure.  What I do know is that all of those Lionel big scale Berks seem great and I have admired them for ages.

I really was not paying enough attention when I pre-ordered my recent acquisition: I thought I was ordering one of the older Lionel castings, not the old K-Line casting.
