Brian,
On the one hand it is sad to see it not in it's original glory. On the other hand, it is good to see it sitting there and not scrapped.
it looks to be in someone's back yard.....like to have it in my back yard...

What a wonderful trip down memory lane, people! Awesome! Just awesome! Growing up in Cincinnati, if I had been extra good all year, my father would drive me down to the Cincinnati Gas and Electric Company where we would watch the B&O layout in the lobby for an hour or so during the Christmas season. Living in Sharonville, and with my Grandmother in Oakley, and other relatives near Corbin, Kentucky, I was treated constantly to B&O, C&O, Southern, L&N, PRR, and NYC. I even took a few train rides out of Union Station. Great memories all. Wish sometimes I modeled B&O, but now I live in the wild west where DRGW used to be king, the UP triple track main rules, and black goal flows from the Powder River. Still... Keep those memories coming! Great work!
Joe, John, and Mark,
Those are all really nice!! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks to fellow forum member Brad, have my MTH 20-6665 two car add-on set to the set posted above.
The important car here is the "Pittsburgh" diner. This is in fact one of the two diners used in "The Columbian" consist. The sleeper "East Akron" is prototypical but for "The Capitol Limited" consist.
It is unfortunate that MTH ( Mike Wolf) in their infinite wisdom never made streamline combine cars. In B7O's case these were club cars, Coffee Shoppe-Lounge cars.
So now have a pretty prototypical rendition of "The Columbian" which I got to ride in 56 0r 57. This was a year or so before it was combined with "The Ambassador" and "The Capitol Limited."

I knew I could count on Brian to find the correct photograph!!
I think, by many standards, that was a strange, unique behemoth, huh.

I believe it was 5050 at the drawbar.
M-1 number 501 pulling the George Washington:
The M-1's never pulled the Budd lightweights cars built for The Chessie in revenue service. After The Chessie was cancelled the M-1's pulled standard heavyweight cars for a few years before the big engines were taken out of service.
